It is with profound sorrow yet immense gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Teresa “Terri” Deason Lloyd, aged 70, of Homerville. Terri departed this world on February 19, 2025, at Langdale Hospice, after enduring an extended illness. Born in the charming town of Homerville to the late Robert J. Deason and Ruby Nell Harris Riggins, Terri embodied the spirit of her community, having spent her entire life there.
A proud alumna of Clinch County High School, Terri graduated in 1972 and went on to dedicate thirty-four years as an Administrative Assistant at Unison Behavioral Health, where her kindness and grace touched the lives of many. Her generosity of spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church, where her faith flourished. Highly regarded for her unwavering positivity, Terri greeted everyone with a warm smile—her compassion and warmth were hallmarks of her character. To know Terri was to love her.
She is now reunited in eternal rest with her father, Robert J. Deason, and her mother and stepfather, Ruby Nell Harris Riggins and James Loren Riggins.
Terri's legacy lives on through her beloved family, which includes her devoted husband of 50 years, Harold Wayne Lloyd of Homerville; her cherished daughter, Chasity Lloyd Luke, and son-in-law Tommy of Valdosta; her stepdaughter, Emma Lloyd Strickland and her husband Charlie of Ludowici; and her stepson, Harold Wayne Lloyd II and wife Dawn of Homerville. She was a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren: Stetson Strickland and his wife Sunny of Ludowici; Evan Strickland and his wife Casey of Glennville; Gabe Luke and his wife Brooke of Tifton; Gracey Luke of Valdosta, Harold W. Lloyd III of the U.S. Marines, Marcus and his wife Jessica McCoy of Lake City Florida, and Kimberly McCoy of High Springs Florida. Additionally, her heart expanded with joy through her nine great-grandchildren: Bowen and Brady Strickland, Branch and Lane Strickland, Tanner and Tinsley Luke, Wyatt Wayne Lloyd, Colton and Cara McCoy. She is also survived by her brothers, Orrin Deason and his wife Joanne of Brookfield, GA, and James Riggins and his wife Pam of Valdosta, GA, along with an array of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who cherished her deeply.
A funeral service honoring Terri’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Fulton officiating, followed by burial in Victory Cemetery in Manor with Rev. Joe Chauncey speaking. The family invites friends to join them for visitation beginning at 1 PM at the church.
In this time of profound loss, we encourage all who knew Terri to celebrate her remarkable life and the joy she brought to all who were fortunate to cross her path. Online condolences may be shared at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
