Tammy Lavon Mercer Stevens, 51, of Waycross passed away Tuesday afternoon at Clinch Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Waycross to the late John R. Mercer and Linda Cox Mercer. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Stevens was a member of The Church of God in Millwood. She always loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids, taking pictures, shopping, talking, and especially loved to pick and play.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wayne Mercer and Bennie Ray Mercer.
Survivors include her husband William Stevens of Waycross; three children, Heather Roe (Justin) of Lakeland, Deonna Smith (Jonathan) of Millwood, and Ivan Pittman of Waycross; nine grandchildren, Jorden, Branden, Gaven, Graysen, Cash, Chloe, Taylor, Jacob, and Patience; three children she raised like her own, Emery Sasnett, Cortney Mercer, and Stevie Mercer; three sisters, Lisa Steedley (James) of Argyle, Renee Harper (Johnny) of Nashville, GA, Johnnie Lynn Mercer of Ray City, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 am at Place of Blessings Church of God in Argyle. Burial will follow in Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Manor.
The family will receive friends Friday morning beginning at 10 am at the church.
