Sherry Lynn Wetzel Studebaker, 63, of Homerville passed away Monday afternoon (August 9, 2021) at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Wibaux, Montana where she was a graduate of Wibaux High School in Montana and set state track records with some still holding today. She moved to Homerville in the 1980’s and worked at Standard Container for a few years while she was earning her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and her Registered Nurse degree. After obtaining her degree she worked at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Studebaker was a member of Shiloh Church. She always enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, and doing anything with her hands and doing it to perfection.
Mrs. Studebaker was preceded in death by her father, Gustaf Wetzel; one son, Travis Wayne Thompson.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Clark Studebaker of Homerville; one son, Shannon Thompson (wife Alicia) of Homerville; her grandchildren that call her MaMaw, Logan Thompson of Kileen, TX, Tripp Thompson, Ian Thompson, and Zoey Thompson all of Homerville; her mother, Virginia Etrick Wetzel of Wibaux, MT; two sisters, Nancy Stockwell (husband Perry) of Beach, North Dakota, and Julie Allard of Farmington, New Mexico; one brother, Larry Wetzel of Prescott, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at 3 pm at Shiloh Church. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon at 2 pm at the church.
