Homerville, GA Mr. Sherman (Hoppy) Hendrix, 86, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at his residence, following a short illness. Mr. Hendrix was born, October 8, 1931, in Clinch County, Georgia, to the late Farley Hendrix and Lottie Mae Pittman Hendrix. He was a retired Beekeeper and attended the Place of Blessing Church of God in Argyle, GA. Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Pope Hendrix; one son: Sherman Harvey Hendrix, Jr.; one great grandson: Christain Hendrix; three brothers: Sammie Hendricks, Huey Hendrix and Lois Hendrix; and two sisters: Dollie Mae Murphy and Verdie Walker. Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law: Angie & Stanley McCall and Jaquita & Kevin Maynard, both of Homerville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Horace & Shelby Hendrix, Robert Hendrix and Hubert & Bronna Hendrix, all of Homerville; two sisters: Doris Peek, Homerville and Maybell Harper, Ovida, FL; nine grandchildren: Mark & Brandi Thomas, Penny & Andy Vaughan, Melissa & Billy Johnston, all of Homerville, Clinton & Mclyn Hendrix, Cassie & Clifton Felner, Jessica Hendrix Hunt all of Waycross, Mindy & Jeremy Chauncey, Atlanta, Stephanie & Corey Prince, TN and Ricky McCall, FL; fifteen great grandchildren: Caleb Henderson, Tyeler & Jonathan Hrabar, Dalton Sheffield, Bill Hendricks, Jr., Carlyanna Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, Taylor & Mitchell Roundtree, Dillion Allen, all of Homerville, Mina Hendrix, Clinton Hendrix, Jr., Elexia Brooker, Connie Johnston, all of Waycross, Kaden Maynard, Caleb Johnston and Caitlin Johnston, all of Homerville; three great great grandchildren: Maebree Harbar, Dane Roundtree and Vivian Hendricks all of Homerville, a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral Services for Mr. Hendrix will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at, Place of Blessing Church of God, Argyle, Georgia. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hendrix will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
