Ruth Griffis Allen, 95, of Homerville passed away Thursday evening (August 20, 2020) at Riverbrook Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born in Clinch County to the late Farley and Ida Thomas Griffis. Mrs. Allen lived in Homerville most of her life and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton D. Allen; two grandsons, Harry Lee Handley, Jr. and Kyle Handley; one brother, Bill Griffis; one sister, Pauline Crews; son-in-law, Harry Handley. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Handley of Dupont and Brenda Ciciora of Homerville; four grandchildren, Pam Williams (Randy ) Homerville, Carla Handley of Valdosta, Allen Handley of Dupont, and Tracy Ritch of Homerville; eight great grandchildren, Victoria Palmer, Skylar Riberon, Ashton Williams, Zackary Handley, Breanna Baxley, Lexie Handley, Ryland Ritch, and Alexandria Thompson; seven great-great grandchildren, Eleck Warren, Thatcher Riberon, Seager Warren, Mary Ruth Ritch, CT Thompson, Maggie Thompson, and Mollie Thompson; one sister, Artie Wildes of Waycross; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A funeral service will be held Monday morning at 11 am at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.
