Robert "Weasel" Glynn Whittington

Robert Glynn Whittington, better known as Weasel, 61, passed away on August 26, 2021 in Valdosta, Georgia, after battling chronic and short term illnesses.  Weasel was born the third child of the late Horace Jefferson Whittington and Myrtle Bennett Whittington, on July 29, 1960 in Homerville, Georgia. Weasel was a Master Timber Harvester, having worked for his Daddy and Uncle Dempsey Bennett’s business Bennett and Whittington Logging.  He carried on the legacy by owning and operating Whittington Logging until 2003.  Before early retirement, he went on to work for several other logging businesses in the area. Weasel was a simple man.  He loved his family deeply and was always their fiercest protector.  He also enjoyed being outdoors.  Weasel was a member of Millpond Hunting Club where he could spend days deer hunting, and later on sneak a nap in his truck. He also would take pleasure in killing time at Hughes Berry Farm with a few of his best of friends. In September of 2019, Weasel gave his life to the Lord during revival at Shiloh Church, the church where he grew up and married his wife.  Weasel and his beloved wife, Lynn, were baptized and joined Trinity Baptist Church on October 11, 2020.  His love for the Lord was apparent. Weasel is survived by his wife, Lynn Webb Whittington of Homerville, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Courtney Whittington of Homerville, Daughter, Annie Whittington of Valdosta, his most treasured grandchildren, Oaklynn, Baker, and Bodi Whittington, sister and brother-in-law Gail and Ronnie Gilliard of Homerville, brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Deborah Whittington of Valdosta.  His mother-in-law, Mervin Webb of Homerville, a special lifelong friend, George Hughes, and his furry companion LuLu, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Baptist Church in memory of Robert Glynn “Weasel” Whittington. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will be at Pine Forest Cemetery.
