Mrs. Rita Joyce Tyson Stalvey, 71, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at her home, following a short illness. Mrs. Stalvey was born, August 27, 1948 in Homerville to the late Sidney Walker and Verdie Hendrix Walker. She was a homemaker and member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God, where she was the pianist for several years. She had worked for Flowers by Caryleen, loved to sew and devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis Stalvey, sister: Ann Douglas and brother: Kenneth Walker. Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law: Andrea & Shawn Morris, Middleburg, FL and Annette & George Mosley, Astor, FL; two sons and daughter in law: Terry & Angie Tyson, Fargo and Clifton Tyson, Homerville; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Jeanette & Nathaniel Smith, Lake Panasoffkee, FL, Rosalyn & Phil Norman, Stockton, Sue & Donald Johnson, Valdosta, Rhonda & Charles Henry, Homerville; one brother and sister-in-law: Ronald & Wanda Walker, Webster, FL; one sister-in-law: Nita Walker, Pearson; one brother-in-law: Charles Douglas, Waycross; ten grandchildren: Josh Tyson, Erin Tyson, Walker Tyson, Gerald Finch, Suzette Surratt, Paige Tyson France, Savannah Tyson, Gracene Tyson, Brent Hendley and Matthew Tyson; seven great grandchildren: Ally Tyson, Bethany Finch, Bailey Finch, Bristol Finch, Bella Hendley, Addy Hendley and Jimmy Ray France; Mr. Lewis Stalvey’s children: Jena, Joy Lynn, Keith, Michael and Jonathan; several nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives. Graveside services for Mrs. Stalvey will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at two o’clock, in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
