Rev. Daniel Rayder “Danny” Isaac, 78, of Homerville passed away Friday evening, April 11, 2025, at Riverbrook Healthcare after an extended illness. He was born in Lanier County to the late Rayder Isaac and Louise Young Isaac Gilley. Rev. Isaac was a 1964 graduate of Lanier County High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Rev. Isaac first pastored at Faith Chapel in Jesup, GA from 1980-1981, then pastored at Zoar Southern Congregational Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL for thirty years. In Jacksonville, he was the Parts Manager at M.D. Moody & Sons, Inc. Along with preaching, he and Martha Ann were blessed to be foster parents for 30 years. They had over 300 children to come through their home. He moved to Homerville in 2011and was a member of Shiloh Church. Rev. Isaac was an avid fisherman and was always joking with everyone.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Smith Isaac; one son, Troy Smith; one sister, Carol Wetherington.
Survivors include four sons, Tommy Smith of Waycross, Charlie Isaac of California, Christopher “Chuck” Isaac (Cathi) of Houston, TX, and Cody Isaac of Homerville; one daughter, Cindy Pharr (Denny) of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Ethan Isaac, Aiden Isaac, Jayden Isaac, and Bentley Blakenship; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Duell Stone of Nashville, Patricia and Wayne Jones of Evans, GA, Wanda and James “Delmar” Adams of Homerville, and Martha Booth of Lakeland; two stepsisters, Wanda and Rev. Jimmy Futch of Homerville, and Carolyn Sherrod of Homerville; mother-in-law, Shirley Smith Finley of Homerville; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Lavern) Miller of Homerville, Teresa Smith of Homerville, Lori Reeves (Randy) of Irwinville, and Lavada Pitts (Gabby) of Homerville; brother-in-law, Jeffery Smith of Jacksonville, FL; ;numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Saturday morning, April 19, 2025, at 11 am in the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Holton and Rev. W.G. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Roundtree Funeral Home.
The family requests the Lanier County Class of 1964 to serve as Honorary Pallbearers and should meet at the church by 10:40 am.
