Mrs. Phyllis Carol Murray Walker, 72, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Walker was born, October 28 1947, in Princeton, NC, to Belle Murray Singleton, DuPont and the late Needham Murray. She was a member of the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church. She was a wonderful Mom and grandmother, she loved her church, her family, gardening and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband: Alex Walker, son: Johnny Walker; and brother; David Murray. Survivors are two daughters: Phyllis Hope Walker and Jasmin McCullough, both of DuPont; one son: Alex James Walker, Homerville; one sister: and Marsha Murray, DuPont; six grandchildren: Marlena & Matt Ganas, Jonathan Smith, Kevin Walker, Courtney Walker, Katherine Parodo, and Jarett Walker; seven great grandchildren: Mayleigh Ganas, Matthew Ganas, Miles Ganas, Annabella Walker, Addison Walker and Ryleighann Parodo and Archer Finn; one niece: Katie Murray; three nephews: Brian Hurrelson, Christopher Vanvelzor and Aiden Vanvelzor; special friends: Norma Henson and family, Faye Matthews and Steve & Holly Wolf; several other nieces and nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Mrs. Walker will be held Monday, April 13, 2020 at twelve o’clock in the North Cemetery.
