Pastor Davy Lamar Stabler

Statenville

Pastor Davy Lamar Stabler, 69, of Statenville passed away Thursday evening, August 15, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Pineville, Louisiana to the late Robert Wesley Stabler and Laverne Henson Stabler. Mr. Stabler grew up in Tarver and lived most of his life in Statenville where he worked in Site Prep as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Gary Strickland, and worked at Coggins Farms and currently was the Pastor of Jesus Nation Worship Center in Statenville. He always enjoyed working on engines, welding and fabricating, fishing and running dogs when he was younger, and in his later years keeping his grass mowed, but most of all being a servant of the Lord. Mr. Stabler was a member of the Poarch Creek Band of Indians.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Dale Stabler, Monroe Stabler, Roger Stabler, and Michael Anthony Stabler.

He is survived by love of his life and best friend, Sylvia Lofton Stabler of Statenville, and on September 19 will be their 49th Wedding Anniversary; one son, Andy Stabler (wife April) of Statenville; one daughter, Dana Stabler (Stephanie Jones) of Tifton; four grandchildren, Gage Weaver (wife Carlee) of Lake Park, Hailey Stabler, Kaden Stabler, and Luke Stabler all of Statenville; one great-grandson, Grae Weaver; two sisters-in-law, Marsha Stabler of Homerville and Kathy Stabler of Echols County; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 20, 2024, at 3 pm at Place of Blessings Church of God in Argyle with Rev. Samuel David Inman and Beth Infinger officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
