Nezzie Melton Cribbs, 103, of Fargo passed away Saturday night (Feb. 27, 2021) at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Clinch County to the late Israel G. and nancy Elizabeth Deloach Melton and lived here most of her life. Mrs. Cribbs was a member of Fargo Evangelistic Church and a homemaker. She always enjoyed gardening, cooking, her chickens, and quilting.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hance Cribbs; three daughters, Margie Vanilla Harris, Annette Cribbs, and Rev. Sarah Cribbs Deese; two grandsons, Eddie Chauncey and Jeffrey Cribbs; one great-grandchild, Dustin Henderson; four sisters, Juanita Cribbs, Ava Nell Steedley, Clennie Williams, and Bertha Douglas; four brothers, Acline Melton, Virgil Melton, Farris Melton, and Aaron Melton.
Survivors include two daughters, Vera Henderson of Statenville, Sherry Colburn Watson (David) of Fargo; one son, Jimmy Cribbs (Frances) of Waycross; eleven grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; thirty-one great great grandchildren; seven great great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11 am at Fargo Evangelistic Church. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Fargo Evangelistic Church.
