Michael Anthony Stabler, 64, of Echols County passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Jena, Louisiana to the late Robert Wesley Stabler and Laverne Henson Stabler. Mr. Stabler was a Creek Indian and lived in Echols County most of his life. He was self-employed as a mechanic and attended Jesus Nation Worship Center in Statenville. Mr. Stabler always enjoyed working on race cars, driving, watching sports on TV, and especially playing pool which he was good at.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Dale Stabler, Monroe Stabler, and Roger Stabler.
Survivors include his spouse, Kathy Reynolds Stabler of Echols County; one brother and sister-in-law, Davy and Sylvia Stabler of Statenville; sister-in-law, Marsha Stabler of Homerville; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 3 pm at Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
