Maxine Delk Davis, 74, of Homerville passed away Friday morning, August 16, 2024 at her residence after a short illness. She was born in Homerville to the late William Henry Delk, Sr. and Nora Candace Herrin Delk and lived here all of her life. Mrs. Davis grew up on the Petty farm in DuPont and always enjoyed planting flowers and yard work. She attended New Vision Church of God.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton “Juke” Davis, Jr.; three brothers, “Boss” Delk, Man Delk, and J.D. Delk; three sisters, Annie Delk, Mary Lou Delk, and Nora “Pretty” Delk Daniel.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Maxine Smith Roberts of Homerville and Irvina Candacy “Candy” Smith of Homerville; four grandchildren, T.J. Morgan (wife Ashley) of Echols County, Eric Tew (wife Brittany) of Blackshear, Cheyenne Tew of Homerville, and Chelsey McDowell of Ware County; eight great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Cloee, Rylie, Axton, Rydr, Oliver, Kaidynce, and Kannon; special niece, Sheila Lee (husband Donald) of Homerville; her dog, Peppy; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Monday, August 19, 2024, at Pine Forest Cemetery with Pastor W.G. Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
