Mary Lou Hallford Smith, 81 of Homerville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday afternoon at her residence. She was born in Bonifay, FL to the late Tollie and Eva Lily Davis Hallford and lived in Homerville for most of her life. Mrs. Smith was a member of New Vision Church of God, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Clifton Davis and a brother-in-law, James Turner.
Mrs. Smith was a very devoted ministers’ wife of sixty-five years to her husband, Rev. Shelton Smith of Homerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Mack Wilson of Argyle, and Kristen and Jason York of Homerville; four grandchildren, Brock and Amanda Wilson, Brandon and Kerri Ann Wilson, Lily-Ana Pittman, Jonah Pittman; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Caleb, Madison, Zayden, Lila, and Bentley; one sister, Betty Sue Turner of Prattville, AL; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Linda Hallford of Homerville.
A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11 am at New Vision Church of God. Entombment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at New Vision Church of God.
