Mrs. Martha B. Denton, 85, passed away, Monday, November 30, 2020, in the Fellowship Nursing Home, Quitman, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Denton was born, January 15, 1935, in Homerville, GA, to the late Alphonso Leo Barnhill and Rosalind Olivia Dame Barnhill. She was retired from the Clinch County Board of Education as a teacher and was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church. She proceeded in death by two sisters: Rosalind Ogletree and Sarah Bessonette.
Survivors are one daughter: Elizabeth D. Coleman, Homerville; one brother: George Barnhill, Hortense; three grandchildren: Christopher Coleman, Olivia White (Kenyon) and Sarah Spivey (Brandon); three great grandchildren: Ryker Coleman, Maddox Spivey and Elleanor Spivey; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Denton will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at one o’clock in the Pine Forest Cemetery. It is requested that everyone in attendance wear a mask.
