Margie Selph McCoy

June 18, 1944 — February 28, 2020

After battling numerous health issues Margie S. McCoy, 75, surrounded by family and loved ones, received her complete healing on February 28, 2020, at the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, GA. She took great joy being surrounded by her family and church family. She filled her days rocking in her chair, cross stitching quilts for grandchildren and great grandchildren, doing word search puzzles, watching old reruns of Matlock, Perry Mason, Bonanza and Law-N-Order. Ms. Margie enjoyed sharing her faith and love through her card ministry. One of her greatest treasures was cheering for her grandchildren, whether it be from the sidelines or her favorite chair. Ms. Margie was born June 18, 1944 in Ocilla, GA and was retired from the food service division of the Georgia Department of Corrections. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was a member of the Super Senior Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Center. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Sherry Harris Selph; one son: Walter Fender; her parents: John & Margaret Selph and her two husbands: B. W. Fender and Bill McCoy and sister-in-law: Beaudru “Sister” Fender. Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda & Robbie Brown and Angie & William Bradford, all of Homerville and Cheryl & Chuck Reynolds, Waverly, GA; one sister and brother-in-law: Linda & Jim Allen, Lexington, SC; two brothers and sister-in-law: Buddy & Lydia Selph and Lewis Selph, all of Homerville. five grandchildren: Nicole & Matt Spikes, Homerville, Mikki & Richard Yawn, Nashville, GA, Elizabeth & Brian Herrin and Austin & Hali Bradford, both of Homerville and Sydney Davis & Dub Shirah, Hoboken; eight great grandchildren: Laneston Hendricks, Carson Hendricks, Eli Yawn, AnnaBelle Shirah, Hance Herrin, Cason Yawn, Mallie Herrin, Landrie Bradford; one sister-in-law and husband: Net and Hank Kenny, Homerville; two brothers-in-law & wives: Dennis & Pam Fender and Benny & Debbie Fender, all of Stockton; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. McCoy will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at four o’clock at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 2, 2020 from six till eight p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests you to contribute to one of her favorite organizations: Jesus & Jam, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Senior Citizen Center, Pearlman Cancer Center or Operation Christmas Child.
