Mr. Mack Dempsey Bennett, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Bennett was born, April 20 1931, in Haylow, Echols County, GA to the late William Matthew Bennett and Annie Bell McRae Bennett. He was a member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church and was retired from Bennett & Whittington Logging, Inc. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter: Sharon Elaine Bennett Deen, three sisters: Ethelle Bennett Smith, Winona Bennett Kinnon and Myrtle Bennett Whittington; two brothers: Dixon Bennett and Rudolph Bennett. Survivors are his wife of 64 years: Janice Whittington Bennett, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Neciee & Bob Johnson, Homerville; one son: Steve Bennett, Sylvester, GA; one son-in-law: Donald Deen, Homerville; six grandchildren: Rebecca Calley, Jennifer & Rev. Austin Deloach, Jr., Josh & Laurie Anna Lee, Rekasa & Jon Hart, Hannah & David Bradley and Matthew Bennett; nine great grandchildren: Lexie Calley & Jonathan Hutchenson, Alora Gail Deloach, KenLee Deloach, Dempsey Anna Deloach, who is named after him, Mack Lee, Bray Lee, Emma Bradley, Ella Bradley, and Anna Hart; one great great grandson: Camden Hutchenson; special friend: Iris Harper, Homerville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at eleven o’clock at the Shiloh Church. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
