Agnes Laverne Thrift Strickland, 75, of Homerville passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness. She was born in Ware County to the late Anthony Flint and Myrtice Strickland Thrift. Mrs. Strickland lived in Homerville most of her life where she was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and was a homemaker.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lester “J.L.” Strickland; one brother, Harry Thrift; sister-in-law, Beth Thrift.
Survivors include one daughter, Margie Hendrix (husband Rick) of Homerville; two grandchildren, Les Hendrix (Penny) of Brunswick, and Lacey Green (husband Cole) of Jacksonville, NC; six great-grandchildren, Alex Hufstetler, Charlee Hendrix, Dan Green, J.P. Green, Annie Green, and Hendrix Green; one brother, Stanley Thrift of Homerville; one sister-in-law, Teresa Thrift of Homerville; nieces and nephews, April Bennett (Chris) of Stockton, Devin Lane (fiance’ Ashley) of Thomasville, Kaitlyn Thrift of Valdosta, Kelsie Staten (husband Ethan) of Valdosta, Harrison Staten, and Riggs Staten both of Valdosta, Laurie Anna Lee (husband Josh) of DuPont, and Maura Delk (husband Rusty) of Homerville; Drake Browning that was like a grandson; four friends she talked to on the phone everyday for hours, Jerri Moylan, Dreamer Voight, Mae Mixon, and Betty Hall.
A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, December 31, 2022, at 11 am at Lighthouse Assembly of God.
