Laura Booth Landrum Keenan went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2020. Laura was born on November 21, 1938 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Irma Griffin Booth. She married Jimmy Landrum in 1956 and spent 31 years side by side with him in ministry before becoming a widow at 49. She was a faithful servant to all the churches where her husband ministered. She taught Sunday School, hosted numerous missionaries and evangelists in their home, led the youth group, played the piano, and did whatever was needed to spread the Gospel, all for the glory of God. She was a gracious prayer warrior who exemplified unconditional Christ-like love to whomever she met. After her four children were in school, she began her college career and became a teacher. She taught elementary school for 30 years, ending her career teaching first grade at Clinch Elementary. She earned her Masters and Education Specialist degrees before retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Beta Alpha chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization dedicated to promoting personal and professional growth among women educators locally and around the world, and the Clinch Retired Educators Association. She was also a Red Hat Lady in Clinch County and enjoyed many trips with them. Even though she lived in many cities while her first husband, Jimmy Landrum, worked in ministry, she always considered Homerville to be her home. She found love again in 2012 marrying John Keenan. He brought much happiness and joy to her final years. Despite being robbed of her memory, she still had a sweet spirit and funny sense of humor. Known as “Grandmother” by her grandchildren and most of their friends, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, and feeding those she loved. You never told her you were hungry unless you were prepared to have the refrigerator emptied to satisfy you. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Landrum, her brother Nicholas Booth, and one granddaughter, Sarah Landrum. She is survived by her husband John Keenan; four children and their spouses: David and Jan Landrum of Lufkin, TX; Pamela and John Shirley, Tuscaloosa, AL; Jonathan and Lisa Landrum, Homerville, GA; Cynthia and Ronald Nordan, Bristow, VA and one stepdaughter, Melissa (Pete) Vein, Medina, OH. Thirteen grandchildren, Hillary Roberts, Anna (Weston) Macdonald, Lauren (Travis) Maxey, Grace (Gary) Thomas, Jacob Landrum, Marin Landrum, Will Roberts, Timothy (Cassie) Nordan, Ethan (Kate) Landrum, Matthew Landrum; Bryce Vein, Isabella Vein, and Brady Vein, four great-grandchildren John Michael MacDonald, Parker MacDonald, Madelyn Maxey, and Noah Maxey, and twin grandsons due in December, one sister Elva Lee Dickerson and one sister-in-law Mary Jo Booth and several nieces and nephews in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Ohio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 am at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
