Kenneth Warren Bennett, 78, of Homerville passed away Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Clinch County to the late Isham Clifford and Gladys Thornton Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a 1964 graduate of Clinch County High School and lived here all of his life where he was a co-owner of Bennett’s Super Market. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Lake Verne. Mr. Bennett published two books about Clinch County, was a coin collector, and loved photography.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Bennett and Clifford Bennett: one nephew, Jimmy Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Dean Bennett of Homerville; nieces and nephews, Ann and Greg Britt of Warner Robins, GA, Lisa and Tim Forshaee of Tifton, Ray and Mary Bennett of Homerville, and Rose and Stanley Highsmith of Lake Park, GA; several great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon, August 2, 2024, at 2 pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 1:45 pm at the church.
