Loretta Kay Phillips Suggs, 60, of Homerville passed away Sunday morning (October 31, 2021) at her son’s residence after an extended illness. She was born in Lakeland to Bobby Earl Phillips and Evelyn D. Cox. Mrs. Suggs worked at Lee Container for many years. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and always enjoyed taking care of kids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Earl Phillips, and stepfather, Michael James Cox.
Survivors include her husband, Kevis Suggs of Homerville; one daughter, Wendy Kay Bartley of Lakeland; two sons, Joseph Earl Paulk (Shelly) of Lakeland, and Brandon James Paulk (Crystal) of Homerville; her mother, Evelyn D. Cox of Lakeland; three grandchildren, Ashley Renee Bartley of Lakeland, Emily Belle Paulk of Naylor, Joshua Jameel Brock of Homerville; one great-grandson, Brexton James Bartley; one sister, Debbie Murray (Glenn) of Lakeland; two sisters-in-law, Betty Hall (Dwight) of North Carolina, and Nikki Willis (Everett) of Homerville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 pm at Lighthouse Assembly of God. Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery in Manor.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
