Joanne Jones

Homerville, GA   Ms. Joanne Jones, 74, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following an extended illness.   Ms. Jones was born May 21, 1943, in New Castle, PA to the late Clarence Jones and Freda Sager Jones. She was a homemaker and attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Cora Joseph and Janet Williams; three brothers: Robert Reno, Walter Reno and Billy Jones.   Survivors are four daughters and sons-in-law: Sheila & J.L. Henderson, Fargo, Gail & Carl Smith and Kimberley & Martin Smith, all of Homerville and Brenda & Neil Richmond, Tallahassee, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law: Franklin “Jr” & Wanda Steedley, Stockton and Bobby & Amy Steedley, Homerville; her ex-husband: Franklin Steedley, Sr.; six sisters: Dede Frey, Susie Dickey, Patty Floyd, Darlene Duncan all of New Castle, PA, Betty Prisel, Atlanta and Shirley Hodge, Ohio; one brother, Melvin Reno, New Castle, PA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.   Funeral services for Ms. Jones will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at two o’clock from the Fargo Church of God.   Interment will be in the Fargo Memorial Cemetery.   The family will receive friends, Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6 till 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
