James David “Jimmy” Watson, 67, of Homerville passed away Friday morning (October 15, 2021) at Clinch Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late David Levan Watson, Sr. and Lessie Mae McDaniel Watson. Mr. Watson was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was excellent with his hands wood working and mechanicing and always enjoyed fishing.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bettye Watson Berryman and Bertha Watson Foster; longtime partner, Martha Lincecum.
Survivors include four children, Stephanie Griffin (Dalton) of Stockton, Jacob Watson of Pineville, LA, Brayden Watson of Stockton, and Marcie Watson of Pineville, LA; one grandson, Lucas Guffey of Pineville, LA; three sisters, Barbara Dousay of Dry Prong, LA, Norma Melton (Virgil) of Homerville, and Brenda Barton (Jerry) of Bentley, LA; one brother, David Watson (Sherry) of Fargo; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 11 am at the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am at the funeral home.
Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
