Jimmy Steedley, 71, of Fargo passed away Thursday morning (July 22, 2021) at Baptist Medical in Jacksonville after a sudden illness. He was born in Clinch County to the late Jim and Gertrude Dowling Steedley and lived here all of his life. Mr. Steedley retired from B-Way after forty three and a half years of service as a Machinist. He was a lifelong member of Sweetwater Hunting Club and Fargo Hunting Club. He always enjoyed bear hunting and fishing.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Mercer, Lanora Blanks, and Barbara Padgett; two brothers, J. T. Steedley and Dillon Steedley.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Chauncey Steedley of Fargo; one son, Dustin Steedley (wife Leighann) of Dupont; three grandchildren, Dawson, Sawyer, and Adelynn; one sister, Evelyn Sirmans of Lakeland; one brother, Franklin Steedley of Lakeland; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at Edith Baptist Church in Fargo. The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 1 pm at the church.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
