Janice Teresa Smith

Mrs. Janice Teresa Griffis Smith, 65, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born July 7, 1955, in Homerville, GA to the late Ruben Lee “Bill” Griffis and Becky Marie Tiner Griffis. She was a homemaker and attended the Place of Blessings Church of God. She was preceded in death by one sister: Wanda Pope and a brother-in-law: Da,e Godwin, Sr.. Survivors are her husband: William Vernel Smith, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Jessica & Seddrick Moten, Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law: Derrick & Lindsey Smith, Homerville; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Penny & Donald Crumbley, Sr., Waycross, Robin Griffis, Argyle, and Billie Sue Godwin, Waycross; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruben Lee “Doodle” Griffis, & Deryl & Roxanne Griffis, both of Argyle and Ricky Griffis (Peggy Jenkins), Homerville; three sisters-in-law: Ruthel & Carlton Stalvey, Rubydale & Jerry Deese and Lielabell & Wayne Mathis, all of Homerville; one brother-in-law: J. L. Smith; six grandchildren: Lacy Moten, Shane Moten, Gavin Moten, Malakhi Smith, Daniel Smith and Elijah Smith; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at two o’clock at the Place of Blessings Church of God, Argyle, GA. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Providence Cemetery.
