Mr. James Harris Register, Jr., 73, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Register was born October 30, 1945, in Valdosta, GA to the late James Harris Register, Sr. and Ava Nell Register. He was a member and deacon of Dupont Baptist Church. He graduated from Clinch County High School and Valdosta Technical College. He retired from the Clinch County School System as a bus driver. He proudly worked for over 30 years at Roundtree Funeral Home. He was also a self-employed electrician, farmer and proud grandfather, affectionately known as GranGran. Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Frederick (Fred) and Liane Register, two grandchildren, Carrie Register and Caleb Register, one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Edwin O’Quinn, and numerous other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Register will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, at eleven o’clock at the Homerville First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Fulton. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville. The family will receive friends Friday, October 25, 2019, from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers are David O’Quinn, Daniel O’Quinn, Tim Register, Randy Register, Dennis Register and Dan Register. Rev. W.G. Smith will play the prelude music as well as sing Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me, Precious Memories and Amazing Grace. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
