Mrs. Glenda Cecile Rigdon Bass, 71, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, in the Memorial Satilla Hospital, Waycross, GA, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Bass, was born July 6, 1948, in Homerville, GA to the late James Glen Rigdon and Lucille Hinson Rigdon. She had worked for Greenleaf as a Registered Nurse and never wavered in her faith while battling cancer and illness for over 13 years. She loved to watch her grandchildren play ball and tried to attend every game possible. She also was an avid animal lover and adored her two little dogs Dicie and Lilly Belle. Survivors are her husband: John D. Bass, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law: April & Steve Gano, Lakeland; two sons and daughter-in-law: Jamie Bass, Homerville and Trey & Patti Bass, Lakeland; one brother and sister-in-law: Sonny & Camille Rigdon, Homerville; five grandchildren: Nathan Bass, Walker Bass, Aniston Gano, Stefie Gano and Grant Gano; one great grandchild: Carlyn Bass; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Bass will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at three o’clock at the Unity United Methodist Church, Lakeland, GA. Interment will be in the Unity Church Cemetery. The family will meet at the home of her daughter, April Gamo, 698 S. Hwy 221, Naylor, GA and at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 from 6 til 8 p.m. Sympathy maybe expressed by signing the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
