Floyd David Maynard, Sr.

January 21, 1935 — April 18, 2021

Mr. Floyd David Maynard, Sr., 86, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, in the River Brook HealthCare following an extended illness.

Mr. Maynard was born, January 21, 1935 in Batesville, AR to the late Charles Wesley Maynard and Velma Robbins Maynard.  He was retired from Standard Container after forty years. He was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church, the Lake Vern Fishing & Hunting Club and loved to work in the garden and fish. He was a six year veteran of the U. S. Army.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Maynard James.    

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Mavis Studebaker Maynard; two sons, David Maynard, Jr. and Kevin Maynard (Jaquita) all of Homerville; two grandchildren, Mindy Maynard (Jeremy Chauncey) and Amanda Maynard Cox (Kenny); four great grandchildren, Hunter Cox, Kaden Archer Maynard, Emmalyn Cox and Kenslie Cox; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Maynard will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11 am in the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, April 21, 2021 from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
