Mrs. Erma Dean Vanerwegen Walter, 87, passed away suddenly, Thursday, September 17, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Walter was born, September 26, 1932, in Mounds, OK, to the late Raymond Vanerwegen and Erma Maxine Self Vanerwegen. She was a professional cook and was the proprietor of Right Way Blueberry Farm. She was a long time member and worshiper at the New Prospect Church, Manor. Since 1983, she was the oldest member of Georgia's MBG (Michigan Blueberry Growers). She was preceded in death by her husband David Russell Walter, whom she married on July 16, 1950 and a brother, Gary Vanerwegen.
She was the matriarch of her family and is survived by one son: Russell Walter, Manor; two daughters: Darlene (Earl) McCracken, Winston Salem, NC and Kathy Walter, Tulsa OK; one sister: Dixie Henry, Henryetta, OK; one brother: Jerry (Gretchen) Vanerwegen, Homerville; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services for Mrs. Walter will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at four o’clock in the New Prospect Cemetery, Manor, GA.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 2:30 till 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
