Dr. Kristie Cason Waterfield

Dr. Kristie Cason Waterfield, 50, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025 in the Memorial Health, Savannah, GA, following a short illness.

Dr. Waterfield was born August, 12, 1974, in Homerville, GA to Mrs. Patsy C. Cason and the late Earnest Franklin “Frankie” Cason and was a graduate of Clinch County High School class of 1992. She had lived in Springfield, GA for several years and was a triple Eagle earning her, Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees from Georgia Southern University. She was an Assistant Professor at Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health. Dr. Waterfield was an avid University of Florida Gator Fan, Georgia Southern Eagle fan and loved Braves baseball, and liked to travel, cook, bake and crochet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Waterfield and her father, Earnest Franklin Cason.

Survivors other than her mother are one daughter: Olivia Waterfield and one son: Maddux Waterfield both of Springfield, GA; one sister: Shannon McCoy (Mikey) Fort White, FL; one niece: Mikah McCoy and two nephews: Griffin McCoy and Cason McCoy; special friend: Richard Pearson; best friend: Leigh Ann Moriaity, Crofton MD; two aunts: JoAnn Tomlinson (Herbert) Tomlinson and family, Homerville and Tina Vining, Manor: one uncle: Mike Corbitt (Teresa) Corbitt and family, Manor and several other relatives.

Memorial services for Dr. Waterfield will be held, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11 o'clock in the Homerville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Carter officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 from 10 till 11 am at the church.
