Dr. Francis Wyatt Coleman, 79, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Dr. Coleman was born, January 23, 1940, in Waycross, GA, to the late Franklin Coleman and Almeda Hearst Coleman. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy as a doctor during the Vietnam era. Upon discharge from the Navy he spent the next 50 years in private practice serving in Valdosta, GA and surrounding areas. He was a member of the Shiloh Church and was preceded in death by two brothers: Franklin Lee Coleman and Thomas Coleman. Survivors are his wife: Betty Sue Coleman, Homerville: three sons and daughters-in-law: Bradley Wyatt Coleman, Naples, FL, David & Daksha Coleman of Valdosta, Leonard & Amy Wheeler, Homerville; one daughter& son-in-law: Alicia & Jonathan Tolle, Homerville; the mother of Brad & David: LaVerne Coleman, Evans, GA, ten grandchildren: Hayden Coleman, Nashville, TN, Connor Coleman, Caleb Coleman, both of Naples, FL, Madison Coleman, Dylan Coleman, Valdosta, GA, AnaLee Wheeler, Hannah Wheeler, Maebry Wheeler, Wyatt Tolle and Sara Clare Tolle all of Homerville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Dr. Coleman will be held Sunday, January 5, 2020 at three o’clock at the Shiloh Church. Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.
