Herbert “Dennis” Kight, 68, of Homerville passed away Wednesday (May 26, 2021) at Colquitt Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Homerville and lived here all of his life. Mr. Kight was a graduate of Clinch County High School Class of 1971. He was retired after many years of being self-employed. Mr. Kight was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and riding horses and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.M. “Dub” Kight.
Survivors include three children, Casey Gibbs (husband Keith) of Ocilla, Chrystal Kendrick (husband Kyle) of Tifton, and Bert Kight (wife Brandy) of Moultrie; his mother, Emma Pearl Studebaker Kight of Homerville; seven grandchildren, Tristin Gibbs of Ocilla, Taylor Hall (husband Isaac) of Moultrie, Grant Hall of Tifton, Grace Hall of Tifton, Maycey Kight of Moultrie, Gigi Kendrick of Tifton, and Karter Kight of Moultrie; one sister, Carylene Metts (husband Roger) of Homerville; one brother, Buzzy Kight (wife Sharon) of Naylor; nephews and nieces, Cary Kight (wife Erika) of Homerville, Roger Metts (Donna) of Hazelhurst, Travis Kight (wife Holly) of Homerville, Amanda Lankford (husband Roy) of Homerville, and Kelly Littleton (husband Blakely) of Lakeland; several great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Friday morning (May 28, 2021), at eleven o'clock, at Shiloh Church. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
