Mr. David Earl “Cotton” Swearingen, Sr., 67, passed away, Friday, September 17, 2021, in the Hospice Satilla House, Waycross, following a short illness. Mr. Swearingen was born, July 7, 1954, in Homerville, GA, to the late Homer Lindy Swearingen and Olie Mae Delk Swearingen. He attended the Lang Country Church and had driven a log truck for John Albert Morgan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Wanda Gail Hawkins Swearingen, sister: Louinelle S. Bennett; two brothers: Lindy Swearingen and Randy Swearingen. Survivors are one daughter: Elizabeth Swearingen, Homerville; one son: David Earl Swearingen, Jr., Homerville; one brother: Daniel Swearingen, Waycross; five grandchildren: Jacob Swearingen, Dalton Swearingen, Logan Swearingen, Carson Swearingen and Colton Swearingen; one great grandson: Brantley Swearingen; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Swearingen will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at eleven o’clock at the Lang Country Church. Burial will be in the Lang County Church Cemetery.
