David Ballance

David Bonell Ballance, 73, of Homerville passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Clinch County to the late John David and Nettie Mae Smith Ballance and lived here all of his life. Mr. Ballance was the owner and operator of Ballance Wrecker Service for over forty years and was a member of New Vision Church of God.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Humbers.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hill Ballance, whom he married on April 8, 1988; five children, Krystal Lemons (husband Brian) of Vincennes, Indiana, Travis Jackson of Homerville, Darin Ballance of Kirkland, Tina Smith (husband Danny) of Pearson, Bryan Daniels (wife Nicole) of Norman Park, GA; fourteen grandchildren, Baxter Jackson (wife Chelsea), Slater Jackson (wife Hannah), Storme Jackson (wife Hailey), Taylor Lamie (husband Michael), Patience Jackson, Teagan Harrelson, Blaine Jackson, Ella Jackson, Brayden Smith, Kasey Smith, McKade Ballance (wife Taylor), Brooke Mertz (husband Ryan), Abraham Daniels, and Gabby Daniels; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Minnie Nell Ledford; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at 11 am at New Vision Church of God.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm at New Vision Church of God.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
