Mr. Colon J. Tiner, 77, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Tiner was born October 20, 1942, in Homerville, GA to the late Robert Lee Tiner and Gladys Corbitt Tiner. He was a fork lift operator for Dollar General and was a member of The Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Marie Griffis and Naomi Roberts; three brothers: Freddie Tiner, Clinton Tiner and Downing Tiner. Survivors are two daughters: Amanda Lynn Tiner, Adel, GA and Brandi (James “Red”) Steveson, Waycross, GA; three sisters: Alice Altman & Lethann (Terrell) Strickland, both of Argyle and Nell (Jimmy) Pierce, Douglas; mother and step-dad of his children: Olivia & John Hopkins, Lake City, FL; four brothers: David (Terri) Tiner, Robert “Bob” (Carol) Tiner, Henry (Turnip) Tiner and Harold (Ira Bell) Tiner all of Homerville; two grandchildren: Jessica Corbitt and Amber Stevenson; several nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Tiner will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at two o’clock at the Place of Blessings Church of God, Argyle. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Providence Cemetery, Manor, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2020 from one till two p.m. at the church.
