Claude "Sunkie" Franklin Smith

Mr. Claude Franklin “Sunkie” Smith, 87, passed away, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at his residence, following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born, April 12, 1933, in Homerville, GA, to the late Lonnie Dock Smith and Maggie Aline Smith. He was self-employed carpenter and home builder. He was preceded in death by his wife: Leola Davis Smith; two sons: Rob Smith and Dennis D. Smith; two sisters: Betty Ruth Smith and Annie Lounette “Teen-Ince” Shirley; one brother: Aaron Smith. Survivors are one daughter: Nita Smith, Homerville; two sons: Frank Smith(Janice) and Reese Smith, both of Homerville; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Mr. Smith will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at eleven o’clock at the Pine Forest Cemetery.
