Betty Jean Sanders Kittrell

Betty Jean Sanders Kittrell, 76, of Lake Park, GA passed away Thursday morning (Sept. 23, 2021) at South Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born in Lakeland, FL to the late Floyd L. and Stella Louise Lee Sanders. Mrs. Kittrell was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years and worked last in retail at Legg’s, Hanes, and Bali. She was a member of Bethel Church of God in Statenville.          

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Kittrell; two sons, James Robert Gilbert and Robert Lee Gilbert, Jr; and her brothers and sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruby “Dodie” McKown and her husband Gary of Lake Park, GA; one son, Steve Gilbert and his wife Jeannece of Lakeland, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorialization is by cremation.
