Benny Gerald Finch

Benny Gerald Finch, 64, of Homerville passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Lawrence and Juanita Jernigan Finch and lived here all of his life. Mr. Finch worked for Lettica in Valdosta as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed attending community churches, collecting trains, 1957 model cars and especially working on his 1957 Chevy.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Bobbie Nell Roundtree; one brother, Bobby Gene Finch.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Finch Griffin (Nathan) of Homerville; two sons, Benny James Finch (Samantha) of Homerville, and Gerald Finch (Heather) of Palatka, FL; five grandchildren, Breanna Mixon (Jim), Kylee Finch, Bethany Finch, Bailey Finch, and Bristol Finch; four great-grandchildren, James Mixon, Mark Owen Mixon, William David Mixon, and Jackson Daniel Mixon; three sisters, Betty Jo Griffis of Rio Rancho, NM, Belinda Bateson (Leslie) of Homerville, and Barbara Thibideau (George) of Middleburg, FL; two brothers, Barney Finch, Jr. (Joy) of Lakeland, GA, and Billy J. Finch (Kathy) of Homerville; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2024, at 4 pm at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 3 until 4 pm at the funeral home.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
