Allen Wayne Brown, Sr., 58, of Homerville passed away Friday evening, April 22, 2022, at Pruitt Health in Valdosta after a short illness. He was born in Clinch County to the late Robert James Brown and Mattie Lou Maine Brown. Mr. Brown lived in Clinch County all of his life and was a heavy equipment operator for Timberline Forestry and also cut fence post for Junior Smith. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially growing and selling mustard greens.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Robert “Bubba” Brown; one sister, Linda Elaine Brown; one brother, Carl Edward Brown.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Wayne “A.J.” Brown, Jr. (fiancé Heather Merritt) of Waycross, and Scott Brown (wife Charlee) of Millwood; four grandchildren, Lindsay Cadence Brown, Lacy Brooke Brown, Sawyer Brown, and Hampton Brown; special friend, Janice Brown of Cogdell; very special cousin, Stanley Brown of Pearson; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, at 11 am at Indian Mound Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday evening at Indian Mound Church.
