Mr. William M. Wilson, Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wilson was born June 5, 1927 in Atkinson County, to the late William M. Wilson, Sr., and Mary Corbitt Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a charter member of the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher for over thirty years and was a charter member of the Homerville Exchange Club. Mr. Wilson was in the timber and tree planting business before opening Wilson Motor Company. He was preceded in death by one sister: Ouida Hamilton; two brothers: W. N. Wilson and James Martin Wilson and a son-in-law: Josh Griffis. Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Hinson Wilson, Homerville: two daughters and sons-in-law: Melonie & Johnny Mack Brown and Bambi Griffis and Harlon Conner all of Homerville; five grandchildren: Brian & Kylee Brown, Dion & Emily Griffis, Wilson & Betsy Griffis, Amy & Joey Fitzgerald and Rebecca Brown; eight great grandchildren: Collin Brown, Nick Brown, Josh Griffis, Cade Griffis, Wil Griffis, Carter Griffis, Ellie Grace Griffis and Molly Fitzgerald; one sister and brother-in-law: Marilu & Harmon Hinson, Homerville, two sisters-in-law: JoAnn & Chuck O’Keefe, Tallahassee, FL and Shirley Wilson, Homerville, and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Wilson will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at three o’clock from the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church. Internment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 11, 2010, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Wilson will be carried to the church one hour prior to the service.
