Ernest L. Wilson

Homerville, GA Mr. Ernest L. Wilson, 83, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, GA, following a short illness. Mr. Wilson was born Sept. 2, 1934, to the late Linton Wilson, Sr. and Teressa Guest Wilson. Mr. Ernie loved to help people. Whether it was fixing cars at Ernies Auto Repair which he owned and operated for many years, or giving food from his garden that he faithfully planted year after year, he was always doing things for others. He loved spoiling his dogs and grandchildren. He also loved sports and played softball until he was in his fifties. He believed in making the most of each day rising early and often working until late at night before he retired. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Buddy Wilson, Linton Wilson, Jr. and Robert Wilson. Survivors are his wife: Dorothy Smith Wilson, Homerville; one daughter & son-in-law: Kelley & Jim North, Valdosta; one son & daughter-in-law: Jason & Angie Wilson, Homerville; two grandchildren: Madison Wilson and Zeke Wilson, his faithful friend: Bandit; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at two o’clock from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in the New Pine Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.
