Homerville, GA Mr. Charles Lamar Stalvey, 65, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital, of Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Stalvey was born February 26, 1944, in Clinch County, to the late Harold Stalvey & Alberta Allen Stalvey. He was a retired self-employed post producer, had a passion for hunting and fishing, and was of the Church of God Faith. Mr. Stalvey is preceded in death by two brothers: E.W. Stalvey & Elzia Stalvey. Survivors are his wife: Bobbie Jean Goss Stalvey, of Homerville; two daughters & sons-in-law: Olivia “Libby” & Lee Brown, and Cheryl & Ray Howling, all of Homerville; a son & daughter-in-law: Charles Lydell & Christine Stalvey, of Valdosta; two sisters: Carolyn Gibbs & Lawanna Tootle, both of Homerville; five brothers & sisters-in-law: James & Diane Stalvey, of DuPont, Julian Stalvey, of Glennville, GA, Carlton & Ruthell Stalvey, of Homerville, Rev. Donald & Barbara Stalvey, of Homerville, Dolphus & Ruth Stalvey, of Homerville; seven grandchildren: Erica & Derek Strickland, Devon Brown, Vanessa Howling, Landon Howling, Tyler Stalvey, Ayden Stalvey, & Patrick Berrimen; one great-grandson: Evan James Strickland; & several other relatives. Services for Mr. Stalvey will be held Sunday, October 18, 2009, at three o’clock, at the New Vision Church of God. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Saturday, October 17, 2009; from 6 til 8pm. Mr. Stalvey will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.
