Homerville, GA Mr. Johnny Will “Coonie” Johnston, Jr., 67, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness. Mr. Johnston was born January 2, 1950, in Homerville, GA, to the late Johnny Will Johnston, Sr. and Rzona Deen Johnston. He was a supervisor at Mulch Manufacturing Company retiring after 37 years on Dec. 31, 2016. He was of the Baptist faith and was a coach for the Clinch County Recreation Department. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bobby Johnston and Billy Johnston one sister Jan Johnston Stalvey. Survivors are his wife: Debbie Booth Johnston, Homerville; one daughter and friend: Rachel Johnston & Aaron Tomlinson, Homerville; two sons and daughters-in-law: Johnny Edward & Beth Johnston, Dixie Union, GA and John Bradley & Ashley Johnston, High Springs, FL; three grandchildren: Payton & Josh Corley, Gregory Lacey, Jr. and Daiton Lacey; three great grandchildren: Emma, Ella & Brooks Corley; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Johnston will be held Sunday, July 23, 2017 at two o’clock from the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Johnston will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
