Homerville, GA Mrs. Linda Lou Cox Mercer, 70, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Mercer was born March 9, 1947, in Waycross, GA, to the late Bennie Christopher Cox and Lou Grace Smith Cox. She was a homemaker and member of The Church of God, Millwood, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Mercer; and two sons: John Wayne Mercer and Bennie Ray Mercer. Survivors are four daughters and sons in law: Lisa & James Steedley, Argyle, Renee & Johnny Harper, Nashville, GA, Tammy Mercer & special friend, William Stephens, Homerville and Johnnie Lynn & Johnny Clements, Nashville, GA; one sister: Ruby Ann Stewart, KY; three brothers: Robert Cox, Lakeland, FL, Billy Cox, Tallahassee, FL and Newton Cox, Millwood, GA; twenty grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Mercer will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at two o’clock from the Camp Branch Church of God Of Prophecy, Manor, GA. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Church of God Prophecy Cemetery, Manor, GA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Mercer will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
