Homerville, GA Mr. James Earl Gilbreth, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, Ga, following an extended illness. Mr. Gilbreth was born December 12, 1942, in Alabama, to the late Bethany Thompson. He had worked for B-Way as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Jean Colburn Gilbreth; one daughter: Shirley Sandlin. Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law: James Earl & Nora Gilbreth, Jr., Atlanta and Ray & Dianne Gilbreth, Hazlehurst; three daughters and sons-in-law: Diane Sweat and Sandy & Charlie Stewart, all of Homerville and Judy & Anthony Spencer, Sulegent, AL; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Gilbreth will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at eleven o’clock from the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery The family will receive friends Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
