Homerville, GA Mrs. Elizabeth Pope Hendrix, 79, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, GA, following a short illness. Mrs. Hendrix was born July 12, 1937, in Tifton, Georgia to the late Elbert Pope and Madeline Baker Pope. She worked for Standard Container, also, as a beautician and with the Georgia Forestry Commission at the fire tower. She was a member of the New Vision Church of God and was preceded in death by one son: Sherman Harvey Hendrix, Jr.; one great grandson: Christain Hendrix and one brother: Albert Pope. Survivors are her husband: Sherman Harvey “Hoppy” Hendrix, Sr., Homerville; two daughters and sons-in-law: Angie & Stanley McCall and Jaquita & Kevin Maynard, all of Homerville; two sisters and brother-in-law: Ann Savko, Jacksonville, FL and Sara & Ron Blansett, Adel, GA; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Harry & Joyce Pope, and Billy & Susan Pope, Melboune, FL and Doug & Jan Pope, Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren; Mark & Brandi Thomas, Penny & Andy Vaughan, Melissa & Billy Johnston, Clinton & Mclyn Hendrix, Cassie & Clifton Flencr, Jessica & Rusty Hunt, Mindy Maynard, Stephanie & Corey Prince and Ricky McCall; fifteen great grandchildren; Caleb Henderson, Tyeler & Jonathan Harbar, Dalton Sheffield, Bill Hendricks, Jr., Carlyanna Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, Taylor & Mitchell Roundtree, Dillon Allen, Mina Hendrix, Clinton Hendrix, Jr., Elexia Brooker, Connor Hunt, Kaden Maynard, Caleb Johnston and Caitlyn Johnston; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at three p.m. at the Place of Blessing Church of God, Argyle, GA. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, from 6 to 8 at the Place of Blessings Church of God, Argyle, GA.
