Homerville, GA Rev. Dolphus P. Smith, Jr., 85, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Rev. Smith was born July 2, 1931, in Homerville, Georgia to the late Rev. Dolphus P. Smith, Sr. and Ruby Lee Bell Allen Smith. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force and was a carpenter. He was a member of the Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his wife; Phyllis Napier Smith; one son; Rex Allen Smith; and one sister: Kay McIntyre. Survivors are one daughter: Karen Camille Smith, Homerville; two sons and daughters-in-law: Artis Lee & Cindy Smith, Homerville and Zachary Robert Clark & Irina Smith, Mena AR; one daughter-in-law: Velda Smith, Manor; two sisters: Phyllis Shirley, Homerville and Shelba Catterson, Charleston, SC; two brothers: Ronald E. Smith, Hahira, and Elza D. (Butch) Smith, Homerville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Rev. Smith will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Shiloh Church. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Rev. Smith will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
