Douglas, GA Mrs. Maxine “Sue” Pittman Grantham. 60, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, in the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Smithfield, NC, following a short illness. Mrs. Grantham was born Sept. 2, 1956, in Homerville, Georgia to the late James William “Joe” Pittman and Maybelle Minchew Vining. She worked for Atkinson County Board of Education as a bus driver. She was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Letha Gene Pittman Bowen: one sister: Delores Pittman: three brothers: J. W. Pittman, Russell Pittman and Paul Pittman. Survivors are her husband: David Grantham, Douglas, GA; four daughters: Christina Jordan Haskins, Pearson, GA, Kimberly Michelle Benefield, Hanna Nicole Grantham, Veronica Grantham all of Douglas, GA; four sons: Lige Donald “Donnie” Jordan, Argyle, GA, Joel Matthew Grantham, Broxton, GA, Cirilo Ramone Grantham, Douglas, GA, and Logan Grantham, Nahunta, GA; five sisters: Donna Gail Merritt, Broxton, GA, Elma “Cripp” Solomon, Rhine, GA, Alma Soles, Willacoochee, GA, Angela Giltner, Nashville, GA, and Daphne Pittman, Homerville; one brother: Carl Pittman, Douglas, GA; a special friend; Theresa Barnes, Homerville; 16 grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorial services for Mrs. Grantham will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at eleven a.m. in the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Memorialization will be by cremation.
