Bert Graddy

Mr. Bert Graddy, 81, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Graddy was born Mar. 29, 1935, in Homerville, Georgia to the late Tom Graddy and Josephine Kight Graddy Dozier. He had worked for Johnny Griffis in the logging business. He was preceded in death by one sister: Nancy Melton; five brothers: Son Graddy, Woodson Graddy, Alex Graddy, Jimmy Graddy and Buddy Graddy. Survivors are his wife: Mildred May Graddy, Homerville; two daughters: Rene (David) Strickland, Homerville and Lisa (Melvin) Shrewsbury, Troutman, NC; two sons: Bert Anderson Graddy (Scott Philmon), Statesville, NC and Ronnie (Lori) Gilbert, Ridgeland, SC; one brother: Billy (Carol) Graddy, Fargo; eight grandchildren: Bryan Dustin Strickland, David Scott Strickland, Martin Metts, Ray Metts, Kristen Gilbert, Julia Gilbert, Dakota Gilbert, Jasmine Shrewsbury; ten great grandchildren: Emma Grace Strickland, Tristan Kaylee Steedley, Skyler Adams, Austin Adams, Savannah Cooler, Brayden Praytor, Raylee Metts, Kreek Metts, Hunter Metts, Macey Metts; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Graddy will be held Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at three p.m. in the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, from 6 to 8 at the Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
