Gary D. Morrison

Kingsland, GA Mr. Gary D. Morrison, 67, passed away, Thursday, August 25, 2016, in the St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL, following a brief illness. Mr. Morrison was born June, 8, 1949, in Centre, AL to the late David Roy Morrison and Evelyn Eubanks Morrison. He was retired from CSX as a train dispatcher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Kingsland, GA, was a veteran of the U. S. National Guard. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Dale Morrison, Donald Wayne Morrison and Carl Morrison and four sisters: Myrtie Johnson, Dorothy Wynn, Pauline Buttram and Ruth Morrison. Survivors are his wife: Linda Smith Morrison, Kingsland; one daughter and son-in-law: Lori & Joel Trednick, St. Marys; one son: Bryan Morrison, Kingsland; a special grandson: Bryson Morrison, Kingsland; one sister: Sybil Guess, Homerville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Johnny Mack & Betty Morrison, Waycross, Jimmy & Linda Morrison, Homerville; two sisters-in-law: Connie Morrison, Argyle and Lavelle Morrison, Waycross; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Kingsland. Interment will be in the Carleton Cemetery, Kingsland, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 30, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Kingsland, GA. Mr. Morrison will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Coffee Club and are asked to meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
